At the age of five years old, Jarrica One Feather picked up a needle and a hank of seed beads and followed the calling of Anukite, the spirit woman who bestowed to the women of the Lakota, a sacred gift, the knowledge of creating fine bead and quill work.
Blessed with the gift of natural ability and an artists vision, Jarrica was mentored in the traditional art work of the Lakota people by her Grandmother, Elva One Feather, whos unique knowledge of the old ways was passed along to her from  kin of generations past.
As an independent Oglala artist, Jarrica dedicates herself to providing the world the finest examples of museum quality beaded artwork, steeped in the traditions of the northern plains, as well as one of a kind contemporary pieces. Jarrica also creates period piece native outfits in authentic detail as well as regalia for the Pow Wow trail.
Born on the Pine Ridge reservation in South Dakota ( oglala-Lakota), Jarrica now resides in northern New Mexico.
She is a recipient of S.W.A.I.A.'s artist fellowship award as well as winning ribbons      from Santa Fe N.M. Indian Market, and the Eiteljorg museum. She recently was invited to display examples of her artwork in the National Museum of The American Indian in NYC by the Smithsonian Institute.
